Brief Impression (click on read more to see the full review): comfort woody grassy aroma evocative of autumn days.

Bois Blond is a standout of Parfumerie Generale Collection Prive.Initially launched as a limited edition, it went back to the collection as a permanent offering due to the demand for it. And maybe because due to the ability of blending a dry, bitter, grassy aroma to a wood base with a discreet sweet and cerealic note. It achieves a balance that seems to carry a perfect autumn aura, relaxed and cozy for those days were the weather is turning cold but not so much yet.

The first minutes are the hardest ones, producing an image that doesn't make justice to the balance that comes next. Capturing the grassy note by mixing grass and galbanum makes it smell green and a little bit like earth and raw potatoes, producing a image that is perfect for a nature enviroment but is not so easy to accept at first as a scent on you. Then, the grasses relax and leave space for a delicious hay aroma. It has a discreet sugariness, with hints of roasted notes, which blends perfectly with the roasted honeyed spiciness of tobacco. They are balance by a dominant woody base with the tobacco doing the transiction to this final stage of skin. Cedar here smells very woody and non metallic, suported by a light musky amberyness that smooth the overall idea without coming at focus anytime.

As a green woody scent, Bois Blonde impresses due to the fine arrangement of the aromas around a not so explored identity of cerals, grass and woods. It's one able to show that Pierre may love gourmand notes and leather but he is able to go beyond them to use his inspiration and techniques in other styles too, always combining exotic auras in a way that seems natural and chic. If you love green and grassy and dry aromas, it's a good one to be sampled.
